My Son’s Day Out

Hello friends, today I got to see a strange photo displayed in the cover photo above, my son clicked, and immediately decided to share it with you. The mystery about the photo, I will talk about at the last of the post. Meanwhile I shall tell you about my son’s long awaited day out.

He went out with his friends, to watch the latest edition of the much anticipated and as much hyped, Spider-Man movie. As it was a friends reunion of his school days, they had a blast of a time enjoying and shouting at the VFX- effects on the giant screen of a multiplex, Inox Screen X. Afterwards they visited the famous Parkstreet Cemetery (the photo above taken here) and the Christmas festivities and decorations all along Park Street.

As for the Park Street Cemetery in Kolkata, which probably was the largest Christian cemetery outside Europe and America in the 19thcentury. Opened in 1767, operative upto 1830 and is now a heritage site, protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. It contains tombs of some famous people of the colonial era, namely Sir William Jones, Henry Louis Derozio, Lieutenant General Sir John Clavering, Elizabeth Barwell , Walter Landor Dickens (Son of Charles Dickens) etc.

The Park Street Cemetery

As the place got the nickname of the most haunted place in Kolkata, may be it’s the very reason young people like to visit the place to find out for themselves. For your information nobody has yet seen anything paranormal in the daytime and place is strictly out of bounds at the night time for the normal people to discover anything other than them!

As for the Christmas festivities at Park Street Kolkata, it has acquired the iconic status of one of the largest dedicated Christmas carnivals in India. The themed lighting and decoration lights up the Park Street bustling with revelers. The streets chime with harmonious carols, while a beautiful Christmas tree decked in baubles awaits at the end of Allen Park.

Christmas decoration

Foremerly a day long celebration for the actual Christmas day now last till the arrival of new year. It can be easily termed as the most happening place in Kolkata at this festive time of the year.

As for the cover photo, if you see attentively, you will find a bird sitting on the branches of one of the trees in the cemetery. The bird in question is not supposed to sit there, but it is! Isn’t it mysterious and a little creepy too! Can you identify the bird?

Have a nice festive end of the year. Let’s all pray to Lord Jesus to protect and keep all of us safe and happy.

Adieu for now.
